Hello! My name is Larry Kahm, and I am President of Heliotropic Systems, Inc. I am an IT solutions provider for small businesses and entrepreneurs, located in Fort Lee, NJ. I have clients throughout eastern Bergen County, New York City, and Long Island.

I have run my own consulting firm for almost 20 years. During that time, I have developed the skills to analyze, design, develop, and support exceedingly complex computer systems and applications.

I began my career as a consultant working for Fortune 100 companies in the financial services sector (banking, brokerage, and insurance). Those firms included Morgan Guaranty Trust (part of J.P. Morgan), Smith Barney (previously part of CitiGroup), PaineWebber (UBS), and AIG.

My areas of expertise developed over time: technical writer, change management expert, application development coordinator, system programmer, and systems analyst. As a result of those opportunities, I learned the core aspects of business-class computing: quality, accuracy, consistency, and security, to deliver systems that improved overall corporate productivity.

Those major financial firms sent increasing amounts of work offshore after the turn of the century, significantly reducing their in-house staff and adversely affecting many IT projects.

In 2005, I began to receive calls from some of those displaced workers asking for help with their computer systems. The work was rewarding and personally satisfying

By 2008, right at the start of the financial collapse, I made the transition to full-time IT support for small business owners to help them remain on their feet - and I've never looked back!

I am an avid runner who competes frequently in 5K and 10K races, often placing in my age group. I belong to the North Jersey Masters Track & Field Club (NJM), based in Ridgewood, NJ.

In January 2015, I had surgery to remove cancer, followed by radiation treatments in the early spring. That November I completed the New York City Marathon after having raised more than $7,200 for Fred’s Team, a charitable organization (named after Fred Lebow, long-time president of New York Road Runners) that helps cancer patients at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. In January 2016, NJM presented me with the “Comeback Runner of the Year” award to recognize my achievements.
